Color, shape, and beauty that uplifts the mood of the viewer is my intention in this series of photographs. I make these photos working with ice forms I have created, found in nature, and sometimes I color enhance the ice I find in nature. Contemporary abstract art is a new direction to add to the many forms of art I enjoy making. I spent many years doing glass blowing, and had a stained glass studio. This continues my love of transparent and semi-transparent art work, by now adding photography into the mix. These images would work wonderfully in commercial settings, restaurants, hotels, spas, and homes. The work on my Color In Ice Series began in January 2014.
Artist Paddy Shaffer mixes a serious focus on subject matter that documents current history such as politics, elections, news, justice, the environment, and a lighthearted blissful enjoyment of nature, people, animals, food, and architecture in her art. Shaffer produces both a hard critical view, and a soft loving edge in the art she creates. Shaffer has mastered many mediums including: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, and more.
