Description
January 27, 2014 brought snow rollers to central Ohio. A rare meteorological phenomenon where snow is windblown to create self forming snow balls that roll and grow, and roll and grow more. This image, and my photograph titled Snow Rollers 19 are the same snow roller. I carefully lifted this one and put it on its side for better lighting so that the details of the formation could be better documented. It was very beautiful, and this is one of the largest I found at over two feet across at the widest point. The temperature was 7 degrees, and I saw thousands of them today. This is something I have never seen before. These are in Dublin, Ohio, USA, but happened around the state.
