Capturing a magical moment via sighting the orbs hovering around a lamp post, in the newly created fog shooting off of OShaugnessy Dam was a delight. This was December 2014 and major flood waters were rising on the Scioto River in Ohio, just beyond the foggy trees. The sound of the river was so loud, it felt that the river spirits energy was building that dark afternoon, a cleansing coming.

Artist Paddy Shaffer mixes a serious focus on subject matter that documents current history such as politics, elections, news, justice, the environment, and a lighthearted blissful enjoyment of nature, people, animals, food, and architecture in her art. Shaffer produces both a hard critical view, and a soft loving edge in the art she creates.
